Shaw Communications (Internet Service Provider) IP Address allocation and assignment of static and dynamic IP addresses for Shaw Communications Internet Service Provider
I have been doing a trace route to www.shaw.ca 3 times in a row and got 3 different results. This is highly confusing to me. www.shaw.ca works fine in any web browser so it is pointing to the correct location. I use 8.8.8.8 as primary and 1.1.1.1 as secondary DNS server. Below are the routes. The only thing that's weird here is that whois returns Shaw as the owners of the IP addresses. With CDNs, whois is supposed to return the true owner as per ARIN rules. In any case, you can send your DNS traffic somewhere other than Shaw/Google/OpenDNS to bypass the faulty servers and workaround the issues.
